Xavier Alonso aims to lead his team to defeat the Bavarians this Saturday to reduce the gap to 5 points.

Bayern Munich currently lead the Bundesliga with 54 points from 21 games, eight points ahead of second-placed Leverkusen, who head to the BayArena on Saturday. Spanish coach Alonso will hope to lead his team to victory to reduce the gap to five points. 

In their first league meeting this season, Leverkusen drew 1-1 at Bayern Munich before the Bavarians beat the Bavarians 1-0 in the DFB-Pokal last-16. And the two teams will face off again on Saturday. 

“The target is to win the game. If that happens, we’re five points behind. We’ll try. We’ll play at home with the fans with good energy. We’ve trained all week. We’re not scared, we’re not stresse, I’m not really worried,” Alonso said.
